I can’t believe we’re in the second quarter of the year already! Every time I stop to post, it reminds me how frighteningly fast the months are flying by!
Since my Baby Elephant note, life has been silly busy with my son’s party, his actual birthday the next day, which was Mother’s Day (and the clocks ‘Springing Forward’) and involved an extra early morning start to open presents and enjoy birthday cuddles before having breakfast at the ‘new’ 9.30am with hubby’s mum. The day was filled with building Lego kits and playing, followed by more family shenanigans. All in all, the perfect birthday weekend, but oh my goodness! Followed by a very long, six day week, I’m shattered today! I’d still like to write about the whole weekend sometime for my boy’s memory book… maybe this evening before I forget it all. Maybe!
For now, it’s April, which means that this month we have a new Queen Bee in the Little Blogs Quilt Bee (I think I got the grammar right there), and she is the lovely Jenny of A Note to Follow Sew.
Jenny says, “For my blocks I would like a wonky log cabin (there’s a bit of a wonky theme developing….) – you can find a tutorial here:
I would like it in bright solids or big, bold prints please (no pastels, florals or anything cute please).”
I haven’t made a log cabin block before so it will be interesting to see how it turns out! As I seem to have a distinct lack of bright solids, I bought a few fat quarters last month, and hope to be able to make a block to suit Jenny’s taste. I’m really excited about this one, I just have to get some housework done (BOOOO!) and enjoy my children (YAY!) before I can sit down and start on this awesome block!
